Frequently asked questions?
Q Can I buy from your web site if I’m not a motor trader?
A Yes, we don’t discriminate against anyone, so
we charge everyone a trade price. We are however looking at giving
discounts for regular customers, but when that happens there will
be no requirement to be a motor trader.
Q It’s difficult to compare warranty prices across
different companies, what would you suggest I ask other companies?
A Most of our quotes are for Premium (All Mechanical & Electrical policies)
As a quick check ask if they can provide you with a policy where you make one payment and the policy
covers you for as long as you own the car, if they can’t then you know we’re making you an offer you
can’t get elsewhere.
Q I’m a motor trader, how does it work?
A Just buy from the web site and we send the
Policy book and schedule to your customer by first class post.
They will normally receive their documents within 14 days.
And we send you a receipt/invoice.
Q I run a website can I put a link from my website to yours?
A Yes, and we will pay you a commission on all sales
just register as an affiliate and we will contact you to sort out all
the legal details or ring 0800 043 0917 and we’ll do it for you.
Q The car I want isn’t listed.
A Give us a ring on 0800 043 0917 and we’ll
give you an instant quote for the warranty you want.
Q Can I claim for a broken part that was there before I bought the policy?
A No. The car must be in sound condition before you take the warranty out.
Q Are these warranties the same as the ones the garage will give me?
A Absolutely, in fact they may well be a better warranty as they are fully underwritten policies.
Q Who are the underwriters?
A They are underwritten by UK Underwriting Limited on behalf of Fortis Insurance Limited.
Q How can I check out the underwriters?
A The underwriters are authorised and regulated by
the Financial Services Authority. This can be checked on the
FSA website. http://www.fsa.gov.uk
Q Which are the best warranties?
A They are all good but the top of the range is the Premium,
and we recommend the one payment policy that covers you for the entire period you
own the car. Remember there are no renewal charges on this policy.
Q Which is the best deal?
A We think all our warranties offer a great deal, but the following are we believe exceptional:-
- 12 Months Premium (£1000 claim limit) ideal if your only keeping a car for a short period.
- One payment policy (coverall) that covers you for the entire time you won the car. This is ideal
for that retirement car, or for tradesmen who don’t need to change their vans that often.
Q What are these claim limits on each warranty?
A This is the maximum amount that a single claim can be.
But the total amount for all your claims added together can be up
to the value of the vehicle.
Q Is there an excess on the policy?
A No there is no excess on any of our policies.
Q Do I have to have the car serviced at a main agent?
A No, you have to have the car serviced to the
manufacturer’s recommended service level but you
can have it serviced at any VAT registered garage you like.
Q Do I have to have a service before I put the car on cover?
A No if you have a service history and a service
is not due there is no point in spending money on an unnecessary
service.
Q Do I have to have the warranty book stamped?
A No, but we recommend that you get the book
stamped each time it’s serviced. This is because if you have
a claim the service history may need to be checked and if it’s
recorded in the book then it can save us having to phone you to
check its service history. Always keep the receipts too.
Q Does the car have to have a full service history?
A If you have a full service history that's great.
But not all cars come with their service records, so what we say is
that if there is no service history then for your own peace of mind
the car should be serviced when you buy it. The supplying garage should
do this FOC and should show it on their invoice.
After that point the car must be serviced in accordance with the
manufacturers recommended service requirements.
Q Can I cancel my policy and get a refund?
A The Policy can be cancelled within 14 days of
receiving your Policy documents, with a full refund, after this
14 day period no refund will be given.
Q Does the warranty cover the replacement of worn out parts?
A No, if a part is wearing out (such as
wiper blades and brake pads) then they should be replaced as
part of your normal servicing schedule and the cost of
their replacement will not be covered by the warranty.
Q Is the warranty transferable?
A Yes, the warranty can be transferred to the
new owner of the car. (There is an admin charge for this and
details are in the Policy Booklet - this does not include
the coverall policy which is tied to the owner of the car)
Q Do I have to pay by credit card?
A No. You can pay by cheque or PayPal.
Q Can I pay by credit card but without putting my details over the Internet?
A Yes, just ring us and we can do the payment manually.
Q Do I have to use a garage recommended by you to have the vehicle repaired?
A Repairs should be made by your supplying garage
or a garage of your choice who is vat registered.
Q Why should we buy a warranty from Warrantyworks?
A Because you will be treated like a human being and your business will be appreciated.
